| DASINU |
Welcome on the Dasinu homepage!
Dasinu is a Dutch fusion-rockband, or maybe better a project. A project because Dasinu consists of only one musician, and - depending on the situation - a number of guests.
The music is difficult to describe. Maybe something like "progressive" instrumental rock.... Well, kind of... To give you an impression, this is what other people on Garageband.com say about my music:
Epic
Off the wall, quirky, fusion
Neo classical influences
A journey of genres
Apocolyptic
A really abstract kind of vibe, kind of like acid Jazz
Fantasy dragon rock
A complex, layered and contrapuntal form of music
Both ethereal and atmospheric and simultaneously grounded and focused. It was also haunting and spooking while still being heavy and rocking
A more atonal, harder edged RUSH
Space Rock
The best way to find out is to listen yourself overhere!
What can you find on this site?
On the page Dasinu you will find more information about the Dasinu project. Did it arouse your curiousity? On the page Music you can listen to songs. In addition to this you will find links to a website where you can download Dasinu music.
All music of Dasinu is recorded in Homestudio's. I noticed that a lot of musicians are enthousiastic "homerecorders" and moreover, that a lot of people are interested in "how it's done". That's why on the page Recording part 1 and part 2 you can find information about the way I do it (yeah.. record music). Topics are amongst others "how to record a guitar", make loops (zero-crossings), the mixing and mastering process, the use of sequencer- and recording software like Cubase, Reason and Cooledit, ... and a lot more.
A good guitar sound is pretty important when you are recording (and of course not only then). I use, amongst others, a Line6 PodXT to create my guitarsound. More about this on the page Guitar - PodXt patches. As the title suggests here you will also find the PodXt patches I use a lot. You can download them and try them yourself. Of course you need a Line6 modeling device for this. On the page Equipment you can find out what other stuff use. I warn you, it's not impressive.
To make the story complete: you can checkout my musical history on the page Biography and on the page Links you can find links to (former) musical colleagues.

Just as I enjoy making my music, I enjoyed making this site. Everything that's in here describes my personal experience and opinions. I'm sure that out there, there are people who have more experience and knowledge, so I'm interested in your suggestions, tips and comments or whatever. Furthermore I consider DASINU as more then a band. It would be great if this could be an open musical project, where other musicians with the same interests could participate in. After all in this digital era it is possible to overcome fysical boundaries. Consider this as an invitation: Mail me here!

Have fun!
